Tim
bought me this CD for Christmas and I must admit I was a bit suspicious
that it was one of these ‘I-like-it-myself-so-I’ll-buy-it-for-my-wife’
kinds of presents. It turns out I really enjoy listening to it. The variety
of different sounds put together gives the music great depth and interest.
Whenever you’re just about to think ‘this is going to bore
me’, a different sound comes in and gives it a new dimension.
I need to really concentrate on this music otherwise it just fades into
a noise in the background. So, listening to it in the car is great. I
must confess that I do appreciate all Tim’s efforts into having
good sound quality in the car, and so this music really comes alive. It
also means that I don’t listen to it too often and so it is always
fresh and exciting!
The only very negative thing about this album is one particular track,
I think it’s track 2 or 3. The rap on it is pathetic. All these
clever words and rhymes trying too hard to fit (unsuccessfully) into the
rhythm. When I compare this rap to some of the stuff on ‘Sunday
8pm’ by ‘Faithless’ it is very poor. But then, this
is only a personal opinion and a not very experienced opinion at that!
